Replacing multiple missing teeth
With the replacement of more than one tooth, each tooth can be replaced by a single implant but is more usual to use fewer implants and to link and splint these with bridges. This has the advantage of reducing treatment time, reducing costs and often improves outcomes by having an increased bone volume and therefore blood supply maintaining the health of the bone around the implant.
Lower – In the lower jaw, in order to replace all the teeth with a fixed bridge of natural looking teeth, between four and six implants would be inserted.

Upper – The bone in the upper jaw is often less dense and can have reduced volume, with a greater chance of bone grafting being required. The natural teeth are angled outwards and may require more support. For a fixed bridge in the upper jaw, between four and eight implants would often be required.
Immediate replacement of multipe teeth
Immediate replacement of multiple teeth or all remaining teeth can also be done, in the same way that a single tooth can be immediately replaced by an implant and crown, the same is true of many or all the remaining teeth in one jaw.
