Bloxdent Smiles began as a single dental surgery in Bloxham in 1996.
Since then, Bloxdent has flourished, providing care for the communities of Bloxham, Banbury and now Chipping Norton at our newly opened dental practice in Cromwell Park. Every member of the team at Bloxdent Smiles is dedicated to the care and treatment of our patients and our commitment to our patients shines through making us the go-to dental choice for people who value their health.
Laura
Operations Manager

Laura began her career at Bloxham Dental Practice in 2007. After qualifying and registering as a Dental Nurse, she continued to advance within the organisation, working as a practice manager for several years, before earning a senior leadership position through dedication and proven performance.
As Operations Manager, Laura provides strategic oversight of the practices’ operations, leading and developing a growing multidisciplinary team while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Her in-depth clinical knowledge, commitment to high standards and organisational leadership awareness, plays a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of the practice.
Emma Bates
Private Development Manager
Emma joined Bloxdent Smiles in April 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in dentistry and a strong background in corporate operations management. Having started her dental career as a practice manager in 2015, she progressed into senior roles spanning practice management, private growth strategy, and multi-site operational leadership.
Emma now leads the strategic development and performance of private treatment services across the Bloxdent group. Working in close partnership with the Operations Manager, her ability to align clinical excellence with commercial performance ensures that both patient experience and business outcomes are consistently elevated.

Catherine Brady

Catherine qualified as a dentist from the University of Liverpool in 1989 and her early career in secondary care focussed on developing her skills in oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics.
Catherine worked as a general dental practitioner for many years founding Bloxham Dental Practice in 1996 and during this time developed a special interest in postgraduate education completing her Fellowship in Dental Surgery, Certificate in Postgraduate Medical Education and Master’s in Law, Medical Practice.
Catherine brings a wealth of senior experience having held executive leadership and non-executive roles in a variety of organisations including a large Dental Corporate and The General Dental Council.
In addition to her role as Director of Bloxdent Smiles Catherine’s current positions include Training Program Director for Foundation Dentists, Thames Valley and Wessex NHS Deanery, and President Elect and Trustee of the Oral Health Foundation Charity.
Caitriona Walsh

Caitriona qualified from University College Cork in Ireland in 1994 and gained the MFGDP postgraduate qualification in 2003. She combined many years of working in mixed general practice with supporting newly qualified dentists as an Educational Supervisor. Her ongoing interest in Dental Education led to her attaining a Certificate in Medical Education, followed by a certificate in Leadership coach mentoring.
She has a wealth of experience in the dental field, formerly working as a Training programme director for Overseas dentists and a Clinical advisor in a Dental Corporate.
Caitriona now focuses her time on the operational side of running Bloxdent Smiles as well as being a pastoral support for the large clinical team. Outside of Bloxdent Smiles she sits as a Dental Professionals Hearings service panel member, which is an independent panel that hears fitness to practice cases brought by the dental professional regulator, the GDC.
Yovaan Ilangakoon

Having attended Kings College London for his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science, Yovaan gained his dental degree from the University of Liverpool in 2012 and has since dedicated his career to developing a refined, modern approach to cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Over the years, Yovaan has completed an extensive range of advanced postgraduate courses, enabling him to offer patients high-level aesthetic treatments supported by strong clinical principles.
Clinically, Yovaan’s philosophy is to use contemporary, minimally invasive techniques to create healthy, natural-looking smiles that enhance a patient’s confidence without compromising the long-term strength of their teeth. Yovaan is a Platinum Invisalign provider and has delivered full smile transformations for many patients, combining tooth alignment, composite bonding and other cosmetic treatments to achieve precise, balanced results. Yovaan is happy to work with other dentists and specialists seeing patients on referral to create a bespoke, long lasting natural smile.
Yovaan has also held a non-clinical role as a Clinical Director and been an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Dentists.
