Replacing a full arch
When we are considering a full arch of missing upper and or lower teeth, missing teeth are usually replaced with several dental implants spread throughout the mouth in either the upper or lower jaw or both.
Depending on the approach we take, which will be determined after detailed assessment and planning, treatment can completed in a matter of months or in some cases we can attach provisional restoration in a single day.
Different options for full arch treatment
The Delayed Approach
In some instances it can be necessary to first replace the teeth with a denture. Alternatively certain key teeth can be kept in place to support a provisional bridge whilst implant treatment is progresses. The treatment will be completed in stages with a healing period of 2-4 months after the dental implants being placed to allow for the osseointegration of the dental implants.
In some cases, it is necessary to place a small bone graft and this can be done simply using local anaesthetic.
The process of replacing all teeth with a fixed fully bespoke smile does take several months of careful planning helping you to achieve the Gold standard in Implant dentistry.
Immediate Approach (Same Day Teeth, All on Four, All on Six, All on Eight)
It is possible to remove all of your remaining teeth (where necessary), immediately place multiple dental implants, attaching a provisional bridge on the same day. You will leave your appointment with a fixed, functional and beautiful smile. After a period of healing, we then start the process of making a permanent, definitive restoration to fully restore your smile. Usually by the three month point treatment is complete.
